This learning tool kit guides you through the making of your very own beanie. With two woollen panels, some chunky yarn and a chunky, tactile wooden needle (blunt of course!) your child can whip themselves a warming beanie to cozy up for the autumn, whilst learning lots of life long skills. Dexterity, hand-eye coordination, creative and 3D thinking are all involved in making clothing, and these are transferrable skills that benefit future learning, connecting to materials and understanding of where ‘stuff’ comes from and how it is made.
This learning kit contains:
2 x woollen knitted panels (choose a size to fit)
1 x chunky tactile wooden needle (blunt)
2 x balls o f chunky 100% wool (no plastic - never!)
A set of 6 learning stitch cards, pre-punctured
A set of 6 mini skeins of 100% wool for learning stitch cards
A manual to guide you through the experience
Knitted parts are made on an elbow powered knitting machine in our Edinburgh studio. We assemble all kits by hand in our studio and use no plastic in our packaging.
Hand wash woollen parts in luke warm water, squeeze dry gently and lay flat on a towel to dry.
This product is not a toy, but a learning tool. Warning, not suitable for young children as contains small parts and these can pose a choking risk. This product is designed to be used under adult supervision.
